ACT's exciting Summer On Stage theatre program offers creative kids an amazing opportunity to bring their imaginations to life. During each camp week students will create their own theatrical production from creating the sets and backgrounds to costumes, make- up and more. In many camps, the kids even get to write their own script! At the end of each week students will perform the world premiere of what they have created together. With our unique format the kids come up with their own ideas so it's never the same camp twice. With each camp, new skills and opportunities are learned, ensuring that each child has a great theater experience.
We break up each class for better learning:
Rising Stars, ages 6 -8
Young Actors, ages 9 -12
Teen Interns, ages 13 -17
*Our student-teacher ratio is 10 to 1 to make sure all kids have our full attention. Each class is custom made for the kids involved so everyone learns something new.
All summer camps have 3 teen intern spots. The tuition for these spots $100 (that's almost one half the Camp rate). Our interns will learn beyond-the-basics theatre skills in directing and production, along with other leadership skills. Interns will play a big part in our show at the end - in either performance, production or tech - Whatever their interest is!Once you have completed an intern class, you are able to apply to be a teacher's assistant next summer and have a paying job in the most fun place to work ever!
Our program is taught by experienced theater professionals in our new theater space. They will teach skills in movement, storytelling, acting, improvisation, sets and scenery creation makeup and more.
