Lion Pride Summer Camp at Allen's Community Theatre

LION PRIDE CAMP:  

Hakuna Matata!

Explore the wonders of Africa and all of the magic that is the Lion Pride Camp!  Learn songs, dances, make crafts and props.  Campers will learn about creating a unique character using voice, body and emotions through games and activities that are sure to be a roaring good time!  Campers will perform for family and friends at the end of camp on Friday afternoon.  Come join us and let's hear you ROAR!!

IMPROV AND SKETCH COMEDY SUMMER CAMP WORKSHOP AT ALLEN'S COMMUNITY THEATRE

FRIDAY AFTERNOON LIVE IMPROV AND SKETCH COMEDY WORKSHOP: 

If you have ever been curious about “Improv” this one-week summer camp is a chance to give it a try in a safe, fun, supportive setting. Improv is a great way to learn to take risks, have fun, to gain self-confidence, and participate with a team to create spontaneous comedy. You will be up on your feet, moving, responding, and working together to make improv magic! Campers will also be introduced to sketch comedy and develop their comedic writing skills.  At the end of the camp, there will be a show for parents, family, and friends. (FOR YOUTH ENTERING 6TH-12TH GRADES)

HOLLYWOOD CAMP AT ALLEN'S COMMUNITY THEATRE

HOLLYWOOD CAMP:

The fans, the photographers and the reporters will be battling each other to get to you - the star of the show!  Young actors have the opportunity to learn the crucial skills of building characters, playing objectives, and expressing interior emotions physically and vocally. Students discover not only how to express themselves individually but also how to work as an ensemble, gaining valuable leadership skills while having fun and making friends. There will be games, crafts, writing a script and the chance for family and friends to see their favorite star in an original production at the end of the week!

Musical Theatre camp at allen's community theatre

MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP:

Campers will learn some of the ins and outs of musical theatre from choreography and vocal work to costuming and makeup.  We will watch some of our favorite Disney musicals and the classics!  Campers will have the opportunity to create their very own musical using the tools they learn during the week.  They will learn how to audition, shake out those nerves, and put on an awesome performance for their parents and friends on Friday!

Escape Room Camp at Allen's Community Theatre

ESCAPE ROOM WORKSHOP:

In this workshop, campers will learn the craft of developing and then building their own unique Escape Room!  If you love puzzles, mysteries, games and big challenges, this camp is for you!  Not only do escape rooms help develop problem solving skills, they also promote creativity as many puzzles and clues found in these games are not as straight forward as putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Players will often need to think creatively, think outside the box.  On Friday family and friends will see if they can escape the room!  (FOR YOUTH ENTERING 6TH-12TH GRADES)

Game Show Camp at Allen's Community Theatre

GAME SHOW MANIA CAMP:

Do you love game shows, have a knack for trivia, enjoy a good challenge and have a competitive spirit?  If so, you're going to love this camp!  Each day campers will explore various gameshows and develop performance skills while going for the win!  At the end of the week, campers will have developed, designed and built their very own gameshow for parents, family and friends to compete in on Friday!  Don't be shy, step right up and beat the odds!

TriWizard Tournament Camp at Allen's Community Theatre

TRIWIZARD TOURNAMENT CAMP:

Dive into the world of Harry Potter, get sorted into the Hogwarts Americana School of Magic houses, find your wand, test your skills at potion making, casting spells and prepare for the TriWizard Tournament.  Will you get past the Whomping Willow, win a Quidditch match or perhaps be the TriWizard Champions? Family and Friends will get to see all of the new skills learned throughout the week at Fridays Wizard Exhibition!

Space Warrior Camp at Allen's Community theatre

SPACE WARRIOR CAMP:

Use the Force and join the Rebellion to help rid the galaxy from the clutches of the evil Empire!  Come prepared to build your own lightsaber and practice dueling with your friends.  Campers will also have daily activities and games where they will build droids, create their own galactic warrior name, and learn how to act out their very own scenes.  Family and Friends will enjoy the epic conclusion on Friday.

Adventure Island Camp at Allen's Community Theatre

ISLAND ADVENTURE CAMP:

Campers will be divided into Tribes and compete to see who can outlast the others!  Campers will compete in challenges and meet for a Tribal Council every day where tribes will vote to see who loses points.  Maybe you'll find the immunity idol and save your points that day.  Family and Friends will attend the final Tribal Council on Friday to witness who survived the week!

Ticket to Broadway Musical Camp at Allen's Community Theatre

TICKET TO BROADWAY MUSICAL CAMP:

Are you ready for Broadway?  Spend a week developing the skills needed to succeed.  Singing, Choreography, Vocalization and Character Development are all necessary for that great audition that lands you on Broadway. Present a special musical for family and friends on Friday before that bus to NYC leaves!

Rising Star & Young Actors Camps cost $235.  Interns Camps cost $125. 

  • Early-Bird discount of $10 per camp before May 15. 
  • The Rising Star (age 6-8) and Young Actors (age 9-12) will get a Multi-Camp Discount  of $10 per camp when purchasing two or more camps at the same time.
  • The Improv and Sketch Comedy Workshop and Escape Room Workshop are for entering 6th grade to 12th grade students.  Some exceptions for younger campers can be made with approval from the Education Director.

WHAT TIME IS CAMP?

Camps and Workshops run from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

DO YOU HAVE SCHOLARSHIPS?

YES! You can find more information HERE.  Please fill out and submit form per the instructions if you meet the criteria.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE CAMP WE SIGNED UP FOR DOESN'T MAKE?

Occasionally a camp will not make because not enough kids are enrolled. Camps can be refunded or you may select another camp to attend.

WHAT DOES AN INTERN DO?

We love our interns!  They have lots of responsibilities that help develop their leadership skills and prepare them to be a future Assistant Teacher at ACT.  Some of their duties include helping the teachers, cleaning up during and after camp, mentoring campers and a whole lot more.  If you are interested in being an intern, please contact the Education Director at education@allenscommunitytheatre.net

Please see the link below to print out the photo and liability release forms to bring to the theatre.  ALL CAMPERS MUST HAVE THIS IN PLACE ON THE FIRST DAY OF CAMP.

DO THE CAMPERS NEED TO BRING LUNCH EVERYDAY?

YES!  Please provide lunch for your camper each day.  Please be aware that some people have allergies to nuts and should not be around nut-based products (like Peanut Butter).  You are also encouraged to send a healthy snack with them each day, too.
